Top 5 Finish for Heart of Racing during Dubai 24 Hours

DUBAI (31 January 2024) - The Heart of Racing completed the Dubai 24 Hours where the No. 27 Heart of Racing GT3 Pro/Am entry scored a fifth place finish during the 24H Series season opener.

The race was originally scheduled to take place on January 13-14, but was delayed to January 27-28th due to transportation issues in the region. The change created a conflict between the 24H Series and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s season kick-off of the 24 Hours At Daytona. The original lineup set to be Gray Newell, Ian James, Alex Riberas, and Roman De Angelis was rearranged to see Newell joined by Daniel Mancinelli and Pierre Klienubing.

The No. 27 Heart of Racing entry qualified 12th overall and 7th in the Pro/Am category to start the 24H with Mancinelli first up behind the wheel. Through a combination of perfectly driven stints and pit stop strategy, the team was able to lead the Pro/Am category within the first six hours of the race.

During the night, a technical issue forced an unscheduled pit stop and after a longer repair stop the No. 27 Heart of Racing team rejoined the field. In the final eight hours of the 24 hour race the team was able to make up some of the lost positions of the course of 570 completed laps as Newell crossed the finish line in 5th place in the GT3 Pro/Am category.

The Heart of Racing will make its Bathurst 12 Hour debut February 16-18th as the famed 12 hour race will mark the start of the SRO Intercontinental GT Challenge season.
