Darren Turner joins the Heart of Racing for 2025 GT World Challenge season
Hannah Grisham and Hannah Greenemeier team up in Pirelli GT4 America
Phoenix, Ariz. (January 13, 2025) - The Heart of Racing Team is pleased to announce that Aston Martin’s most successful Le Mans driver, Darren Turner, will join forces with Gray Newell in the team’s first GT World Challenge campaign, utilizing the Aston Martin Vantage GT3. Building on their promising and race winning 2024 season, Hannah Grisham and Hannah Greenemeier will co-pilot the No. 26 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 in Pirelli GT4 America once again.
Turner rejoins the Heart of Racing Team after competing with the team in select IMSA events since the inception of the team’s partnership with Aston Martin Racing in 2020. The three time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner was also a part of the Heart of Racing’s 2023 Rolex 24 At Daytona victory. Turner brings 27 years of endurance racing experience to the team - including wins at Sebring International Raceway and Circuit of the Americas, which will both host World Challenge events in 2025.
The English driver will join forces with Newell for his debut GT World Challenge season. Newell makes the jump to the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 after four seasons in both Pirelli GT4 America and GT America powered by AWS where the 27-year-old secured eight first place finishes. Newell has also made several starts in a Mercedes AMG GT3 in select 24H SERIES events with two wins in the GT3 machine.
Grisham is welcomed back for a third GT4 season with the Heart of Racing Team. The California-native first joined the team in 2022 after winning the team’s first all-female driver shootout. After competing in the Pirelli GT4 America AM category in 2023, Grisham was moved up to compete in the Silver category halfway through the 2024 season. As a part of the Heart of Racing Team’s mission to help gain young upcoming drivers experience, Grisham competed in her first GT3 competition this past weekend in the 24H of Dubai alongside Newell.
Greenemeier will co-drive with Grisham for a second season after making her GT4 debut in 2024 with Grisham in Pirelli GT4 America. The Hannah duo scored a win in their first race together at Sonoma Raceway, the pair went on to secure an additional four podium finishes - two of which came after the No. 26 team was forced to the Silver category.
“The team is really excited for the 2025 SRO season,” said Ian James, the Heart of Racing Team Principal. “We have some great history together with Darren, and he will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team and I think Gray and both Hannahs can really learn a lot from him. Gray did a great job in GT4 and I’m excited to see what he and Darren can accomplish in GT3. Last season, Hannah Grisham and Hannah Greenemeier did such a great job as a team making positive progress every weekend, so we are looking forward to continuing to build on that in 2025.”
The SRO America season will kick off March 28-30 at Sonoma Raceway.
