The Heart of Racing Announces 2025 Rolex 24 At Daytona Driver Lineup
The team enters No. 007 and No. 27 Aston Martin Vantages in GTD PRO and GTD
Daytona Beach, Fla. (December 11, 2024) - The Heart of Racing Team has entered IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship’s 63rd Rolex 24 At Daytona with the No. 007 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in GTD PRO and the No. 27 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 in GTD. The driver lineup features new faces among several familiar ones as the team looks for its second victory at Daytona International Speedway.
Piloting the No. 007 Heart of Racing Team entry will be team regulars Ross Gunn, Roman De Angelis, Alex Riberas and Marco Sorensen. Most recently Gunn, De Angelis, and Riberas finished the 2024 season with a third place finish at Motul Petit Le Mans in their debut race together. Sorensen will make his third consecutive Daytona International Speedway start with the Heart of Racing Team, the Dane was part of the 2023 Rolex 24 At Daytona-winning No. 27 team.
The No. 27 Heart of Racing Team GTD entry will welcome back Zacharie Robichon and Tom Gamble, with team newcomers Mattia Drudi and Casper Stevenson set to build on their extensive experience in GT3 machinery with their IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship debut. Robichon rejoins after competing in the team’s No. 27 Aston Martin Vantage in 2024. Gamble will make his first start with the team since Petit Le Mans in 2022, where he was teamed up with Gunn and Riberas earning a fourth place finish.
“We have two really strong lineups this year for Daytona,” said Ian James, Team Principal of the Heart of Racing Team. “Though it is a little bittersweet for me, it will be the first Rolex 24 I will not be driving in since we started the team in 2020. I think these young guys will do a great job and hopefully we can come out after 24 hours with a podium finish.”
The Roar Before the Rolex 24 kicks off January 17-19 with the 63rd Rolex 24 At Daytona taking place the following weekend on January 23-26.

Ross Gunn : “I love kick-starting the year off at Daytona. It’s one of the classics that is important to drivers, teams, and manufacturers competing in sportscar racing. Our target is to try for the victory, we have a really great team and great car. I’m really happy to be teaming up with Alex (Riberas) and Roman (De Angelis) who did an excellent job at Petit Le Mans. Then adding Marco in our lineup is just a cherry on top. I’m really looking forward to starting the season, it’s going to be a big challenge with lots of great teams and drivers out there but we are pretty confident and will give it our best shot.”
Roman De Angelis : “I’m super happy to be back with the Heart of Racing in the GTD PRO category for Daytona! It’s always great pairing up with such a strong driver lineup especially with friends and teammates I’ve driven with and had success with in the past. I have spent a full season with both Marco (Sorensen) and Ross (Gunn) as well as worked with Alex (Riberas) for years and had the privilege to drive alongside at the end of 2024. We have a great lineup to hopefully give us a good result and start the season off strong.”
Alex Riberas : “I cannot think of a better way to start the 2025 season than to be racing in Daytona. Not only because of how special the Rolex 24 At Daytona is as a race, but on top of it to be able to do it with the Heart of Racing in GTD PRO where we have been successful in the past. We have such a dream lineup with Ross (Gunn), Roman (De Angelis), and Marco (Sorensen) as my teammates. This year we will have a bit of a different approach than we have had in the past, so we are going to go all in for the glory.”
Marco Sorensen : “I’m super excited to be back again with the Heart of Racing Team to try and conquer the Daytona 24. We have a great lineup with Roman (De Angelis), Ross (Gunn) and Alex (Riberas) - and the team behind us doesn’t get any better! We have done it before, so why not try and do it again?”
Zacharie Robichon : “I’m very excited to be back with the Heart of Racing Team for the Rolex 24. We had many strong races last year, but luck wasn’t on our side to have the results to go with it. I’m confident that we’ll be able to once again fight at the front and I’m very much looking forward to working with some new teammates!”
Tom Gamble : “I’m really excited to be joining the Heart of Racing Team again. We had some great times back in 2022 and I’m really looking forward to another Rolex with them. Daytona is one of my favorite races and fingers crossed things go our way and we can get that watch!”
Mattia Drudi : “I’m thrilled to be making my debut at the Daytona 24 with Aston Martin Racing and the Heart of Racing Team. This race has been on my bucket list for a long time, and I’m excited to finally check it off. Having my dad as a past winner makes this opportunity even more special. The team has delivered strong performances over the past few years and our Aston Martin Vantage GT3 has proven to be increasingly competitive. I can’t wait to get behind the wheel and experience the iconic Daytona circuit!”
