The Heart of Racing set for SRO season finale in Indianapolis

SRO

Speedway, Ind. (October 1, 2024) - The Heart of Racing Team returns to Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) for the final SRO America Pirelli GT4 America and GT America powered by AWS events of the 2024 season this weekend. The team hopes to capture its first SRO championship in the Pirelli GT4 America PRO-AM category.

Hannah Grisham and Hannah Greenemeier are aiming for the top step of the Pirelli GT4 America Silver class podium after finishing second and third in the past two event weekends. The driver duo of the No. 26 Aston Martin Vantage GT4 have moved up through the Pirelli GT4 America ranks after starting in the AM class at the beginning of the season. The pair has a total of five podium finishes this season including a win in their opening race at Sonoma Raceway.

Grisham will arrive in Indianapolis fresh off of an impressive debut win and third place finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway after competing in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series during the IMSA weekend.

Grisham has a history of good outings at IMS having won both Pirelli GT4 America races there last season.

“I’m really looking forward to racing at Indy,” said Grisham. “It is a track I’ve had some good luck at in the past. Hannah and myself have been in strong form the last few races and I’m hoping to carry that momentum into our last race of the season and hopefully end this year on a high note.”

Greenemeier will look to her co-driver for advice as she will make her IMS debut. Greenemeier will not be a complete stranger to the track as she was there to support the team’s IMSA Indianapolis weekend.

“I’m excited to be racing at Indianapolis Motor Speedway,” said Greenemeier. “It will be my first time racing there and after watching the IMSA race I feel even more excited about getting on track. It’s the last race of the season and I know everyone will be giving their best to end the year with some great results. I know that with this team we have an amazing opportunity to do both!”

The Heart of Racing Team will be fighting for the Pirelli GT4 America PRO-AM championship with Roman De Angelis and Gray Newell in the new No. 24 Aston Martin Vantage GT4. The duo hope to continue their win streak after finishing on the top step of the podium at both Road America and Barber. De Angelis and Newell have an additional three podium finishes on the year.

Like Grisham, De Angelis is coming off of the IMSA weekend at IMSA. The young charger and his teammate Mario Farnbacher finished sixth in their GTD PRO debut together.  Last year during the Indianapolis SRO season finale weekend, De Angelis and Newell brought home first and third place finishes.

“Gray and I are heading into the Indy weekend with great momentum,” said De Angelis. “We have won in the last two race weekends and we are currently in the hunt for the PRO AM championship. Last year we were able to pull off a win and third place finish and I don’t see why we can’t do it again this year. We hope to maximize both races this weekend and hopefully leave on Sunday with the Heart of Racing’s first GT4 Championship!”

Newell, who will compete at IMS for the fourth season in a row, will once again pull double duty competing in both Pirelli GT4 America and GT America powered by AWS. Newell and the No. 25 Heart of Racing team have eleven podium finishes in GT America powered by AWS just this season.

The Washington-state native qualified on pole during last year’s running at IMS, Newell went on to finish third and fourth in GT America powered by AWS. In Newell’s 2021 debut at the Brickyard, he scored a first and second place finish.

The Heart of Racing will see races on Friday (GTA only), Saturday (GT4 only) and Sunday (GTA and GT4). All races will be live streamed on YouTube.com/GTWorld.
