The Heart of Racing takes to the Italian countryside for 12 Hours of Mugello

Scarperia e San Piero, Italy (18 March 2025) - The Heart of Racing Team heads to Mugello Circuit this weekend for the 24H SERIES 12 Hours of Mugello. The twelve hour race will be split into two parts, seven hours will be raced on Saturday and the remaining five hours on Sunday. Qualifying and both parts of the race will be live streamed on YouTube.

Gray Newell, Hannah Grisham, and Ian James will pilot the No. 27 Heart of Racing by SPS Mercedes GT3 at the Italian circuit. The trio will reunite after being joined by Zacharie Robichon for the 24 Hours of Dubai in January where they finished fourth in class.

The Heart of Racing looks to return to the top step at Mugello Circuit after the team’s 2023 AM class win with Newell, James, and Roman De Angelis. In 2024, Newell, James, and De Angelis came up just short of the podium with a fourth place class finish.

“I’m really looking forward to this weekend,” said Grisham. “Mugello looks like it’s going to be a really great track, and I think it should complement the Mercedes. I’m also excited to drive with Gray (Newell) and Ian (James) again after the Dubai race in January. I really appreciate the opportunity to get more seat time in a GT3 car. It does look like there may be some rain on Saturday and Sunday, so that could make things a bit more interesting. I’m excited to get the weekend going!”

Grisham will make her second start in GT3 machinery after competing two full seasons in Pirelli GT4 America.

Tune in on Friday’s qualifying session at 12:00pm ET on Creventic’s YouTube channel. The start of the race will be Saturday at 6:00am ET and Sunday will start at 4:30am ET.
